Description

Banksia integrifolia

Banksia integrifolia or ‘Coastal Banksia’ is a hardy native found down the Eastern coastline of Australia. Often seen in windswept and sculptural shapes along beach fronts, when placed in a less hostile environment, they can become quite beautiful, bushy specimen plants. They grow anywhere between 4m - 10m and 1m - 5m wide, depending on their environment. During autumn and winter their yellow flowers form into large cones, rich with nectar. These stunning flowers attract lots of bird life, particularly cockatoos and honey-eaters. Coastal Banksia is a slow grower and can handle a wide range of soil types. 10" pot size.

Betula pendula youngii 'Weeping Silver Birch'

Weeping Silver Birch is a beautiful tree that is medium sized. Grows best in a position of full sun to partial shade. Silver Birch is great for larger gardens and parks etc. It's bark remains white at the base. This tree is easy to grow and will thrive in most types of soil. This Weeping Silver Birch is deciduous and bears lovely small green leaves. 12" pot size, approximately 6ft tall.

Rhaphiolepis indica 'Cosmic White' Indian hawthorn

Cosmic White is very tough and versatile – it grows just about anywhere and will tolerate most soil types. It flowers heavily in Spring with spot flowering throughout the rest of the year, the flowers are bigger than the common form. Very clean foliage and very good disease resistance. Grows to around 1.5m in height. Tolerates frost, drought and coastal conditions. 6" pot size.

Quercus palustris 'Pink Oak'

Pink Oak is a fast growing, large tree that is noted for its distinctive shape: the lower branches tend to drop down, the middle branches are fairly horizontal, whilst the upper branches are upright. During spring and summer the beautifully shaped, 5-7 lobed leaves, with a distinctive soft pin-like tip on the ends, will be a lovely glossy, dark green. Autumn will see the graduation into delightful shades of red and bronze with the added bonus of holding the leaves for many weeks, making it a great choice for the larger garden.
