Description

Cornus kousa var Chinensis, Kousa Dogwood, Chinese Dogwood

This is arguably the world's most beautiful dogwood, with a fabulous show of white flowers in spring, and magnificent autumn colour. A beautiful small (up to 4m) deciduous feature tree and is extremely beautiful when in bloom.  Flowering season is late spring, weeks after the tree puts on foliage again. 8" pot size

Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin'

A finer leaf variety with even more vibrant red new growth foliage!

• Used for medium to tall hedging • Dark green foliage, vibrant red new growth and minimal white flowers in spring • Tolerates harsh conditions including frost, snow, drought and clay

Content[one_half] [/one_half] [one_half_last] The Red Robin Photinia is a hardy, evergreen shrub that can be spotted from miles away with it's vibrant red new growth, which is even brighter than other varieties of Photinia. The ‘Red Robin’ variety has smaller and more vibrant leaves than the regular "robusta" Photinias, creating a wonderfully compact and dense hedge. This makes it excellent for screening, as a wind break or even a clipped topiary shrub. Photinias are a sturdy plant in general that can be trimmed as a medium or tall hedge, looking quite striking when trimmed into a formal hedge. Photinia produces small, white clusters of flowers in the spring. Suited to Formal or Cottage gardens. Photinia Red Robin grows to about 3-4m and 2m wide. Ideal for: Colourful, red and glossy screen Growth Rate: Moderate, 30-50 cm in 1 year Maintenance: Low. Pruning two times a year. Flowers may require pruning if they bother you. Planting Distance:Plant anywhere between 80cm to 1m apart [/one_half_last]

Should I buy Photinia Red Robin for pleaching?

If you’re after a bit of colour in your pleached hedge, look no further! Photinia make a good hardy pleached hedge, tolerating frosty and drought conditions. And their bare trunks contrast beautifully against the red or green foliage, being a smooth, light grey.
