Description

Jacaranda mimosifolia

The Jacaranda tree puts on a breathtaking floral display. Its vivid lilac-blue clusters of trumpet shaped blossoms appear in the summer, later falling to the earth carpeting the ground with a mass of colour. It is said that if you are walking underneath the Jacaranda tree and one of the trumpet blossoms falls on your head you will be favoured by fortune.

Phoenix canariensis

The Canary Island Date Palm is a tropical style palm with huge feather leaves that waft airily in the wind and give a sense of paradise wherever they are seen. They are perfect for cooler climates and very popular in Melbourne. See more info in our factsheet here. Canary Island Date Palm is tolerant of huge neglect if placed in a position of full sun. This palm will grow vigorously and demand space with a spread developing in a few years. Prefers well drained soil. It is easy to grow. 70 LITRE

Cotinus Coggygria, Smoketree

Purple Smoke Bush is a gem in the garden thanks to it's unique blend of colours that change throughout the seasons. A large deciduous shrub or small tree, its beautiful eye-catching Spring foliage is green overlaid with purple. Summer brings deep purple foliage that then turns deep orange and bronze in a burst of glory for an Autumn show. Purple Smokebush gets its name from the clouds of smoke-like purple and pink "flowers" it produces in early Summer. These are very beautiful themselves, and are prized along with the foliage by florists. Grows best in full sun to partial shade and it is tolerant of drought and most soils, making it a great addition to many gardens. 10" pot size.
Grevillea hybrid  Grevillea Strawberry Smoothie is a compact growing, evergreen, native shrub with small green leaves and large attractive creamy pink flowers throughout most of the year. Suitable for most garden conditions, especially drier conditions. Ideal for rockeries, containers, mass plantings, and native gardens. Plant in a full sun position with well drained soil. The flowers attract nectar feeding birds and are excellent for cutting. Tolerant of moist but no wet conditions. Prune well after flowering to maintain a compact shape. Grevillea Strawberry Smoothie will grow to a height and width of 0.6-1m. 6'' pot

Buxus sempervirens suffruticosa

A glossy green, rounded leaf box hedging plant • Used for low to medium hedging and topiary • Planted in the garden, along borders, pathways and in pots • Tolerates shady positions
ContentIf your looking for a small hedging plant then this is the one for you. Dutch Box is a dwarf box that grows with dense, glossy green foliage and works well in shaded areas. Dutch Box also likes part shade in moist, well-drained soil, but will tolerate a wide range of soils and conditions. It should be clipped to maintain a formal shape. Slight yellow discolouration of the leaves on Dutch box may occur during cooler months, but don't worry, this is normal! This is remedied by applying with Dolomite Lime, and a slow release fertilizer a month later. Or you can just leave your Dutch Box alone and it will come back lovely and green and spring.
