It has a smooth grey bark, and dark green narrow leaves. In autumn leaves turn yellow and begins to drop off. The Snow Gum is a white trunked beauty and is recognizable by its wonderful twisted growing habit, which originates from the tree's coping mechanism for loads of snow in its native Aussie alpine home. It produces white flowers in spring/summer. | Callistemon viminalisBetter John has been bred from popular small callistemon Little John, but with some changes. It is quicker to establish, easier to grow and its foliage colour is better. It has all this while still keeping Little John's excellent small height. Better John bears foliage that is blue-grey while new growth has silver tones due to its soft hairy texture. Its flowers bloom from mid to late Spring. Best placed in full sun or part shade position.
