It has a grey trunk with white patches and flaky bark that sheds in short ribbons. The name microcarpa comes from Greek 'micros' meaning small, and 'carpos' meaning fruit, referring to the small fruit it produces. 16''/40cm pot | Acer palmatum dissectum Lionheart is a very vigorous, large-growing variety that is more upright when young and becomes more spreading with age. This cultivar can grow to approximately 3-4 in height and width. Its spring colour is bright red, holding well into Summer before turning bronze or green. Shelter from cold winds and late frosts. Plant in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Lionheart is a stunning deciduous tree that is fairly hard to find. | |
