| Description | Echium candicansAlso known as Pride of Madeira, (Echium candicans syn. Echium fastuosum) is a stunning architectural plant! The large spires of blue purple flower spikes with delicate pink stamens throughout Spring and Summer provide the perfect highlight above the silvery foliage. This hardy perennial loves a full sun or part shade position. Drought tolerant frost hardy and grows well in dry climates. Ideal for adding the wow factor to your garden. Echium tends to last only 3-5 years before looking a bit raggedy, but plants will usually drop a few seeds in this timeframe and a new one will replace the older version. Can be grown in a large tub to create a magnificent highlight. | Sambucus nigra 'Black Beauty®' Elderberry Common elder, bears sprays of small white flowers in summer followed by small black fruit which can be cooked and eaten. 'Black Beauty®' has almost black foliage and lemon scented, pale pink flowers in summer. Compared to common elder, it’s a much more ornamental option. It works well when planted on its own or as part of a hedge. For best results, grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Cut plants back after fruiting, if desired. | Weigela foliis purpureis - 'Purple Weigela'Foliis Purpueris is spreading in habit. It has dark pink flowers which are a softer pink inside. The handsome leaves are deep green, with a bronze to purple hue. The leaves have better colour in full sun. This variety is a gorgeous, deciduous shrubs with a compact, rounded habit. These make a great shrub border, or as a specimen plant. Plant it in humus rich, well drained soil.
