| Description | Quercus robur
English Oaks are famous for being solid and strong. The trunk and secondary branches are very solid and are covered in thick blackish-grey bark which makes it quite a sight.
The autumn foliage is a rich, dark brown. As the foliage is smaller than other deciduous trees, fallen leaves are not particularly difficult to eliminate and will not clog drains.
10"/25cm pot | Acer japonicum 'Fairy Lights'
Fairy Lights is a slow growing maple that has highly dissected foliage. Spring foliage emerges green but the Autumn colors is what this plant is known for. During Autumn, the leaves transform into an amazing spectacle of bright scarlett red, orange and yellow, hence the name "Fairy Lights". It forms a low growing shrub with horizontal branches
Fairy Lights is well suited for those seeking a Autumn interest maple. It's compact form makes it ideal for a smaller garden or a nice ornamental pot. This variety thrives in a position of partial shade or full sunlight.
13" pot size. | Lavandula angustifolia
Traditionally English Lavender was grown for its heavenly fragrance, used in oils and potpourri.
• Small, slender blue-ish purple flowers on tall stems above the foliage
• Grown in pots, as a hedge or in the cottage garden to attract bees and butterflies
• Tolerates drought and dry conditions, preferring well drained soils
6"/14cm pot | Buxus sempervirens suffruticosa
A glossy green, rounded leaf box hedging plant
• Used for low to medium hedging and topiary
• Planted in the garden, along borders, pathways and in pots
• Tolerates shady positions |
| Content | | | | If your looking for a small hedging plant then this is the one for you. Dutch Box is a dwarf box that grows with dense, glossy green foliage and works well in shaded areas.
Dutch Box also likes part shade in moist, well-drained soil, but will tolerate a wide range of soils and conditions. It should be clipped to maintain a formal shape.
Slight yellow discolouration of the leaves on Dutch box may occur during cooler months, but don't worry, this is normal! This is remedied by applying with Dolomite Lime, and a slow release fertilizer a month later. Or you can just leave your Dutch Box alone and it will come back lovely and green and spring.
