Description

Prunus cerasifera elvins

Tis called a plum! But a fruiting plum it is not! The Elvins Flowering Plum is a perfect little round deciduous tree with stunning autumn colours, come spring time pops of blossom unfurl into white flowers which magically change colour to coral pink. What a journey! The best option for a smaller garden as this tree may be little but mighty in personality. Loves full sun and moist well draining soil. Grows approximately H: 3 Meters W: 3 Meters 8"/20cm pot size.

Hedera canariensis

Canary Island Ivy is an evergreen climber with large deep green leaves. A showy and fast-growing climber, the leaves are initially yellow-green then dark green as they age, with beautiful, red stems. It also comes in variegated (two-coloured) forms.

As Canary Island Ivy is originally a tropical plant, growth can be damaged in a hard frost but will re-shoot in Spring. Otherwise, it is very hardy, making it popular as a climber or groundcover. Grows best in full sun to partial shade.

One use of Canary Island Ivy that is seeing a resurgence in popularity is in creating an "ivy lawn", where the ivy is mass planted and used as a ground cover for a garden bed or large area.

Buxus bodinieri

Shaggy Box is so named due to its slightly drooping habit, which makes for an unusual box hedge.  Native to China it is usually found on mountain slopes and forests and as a result, has a high frost tolerance. It will take 10 years to reach 1 metre in height, but definately worth the wait!

Shaggy Box is ideal to hedge, can be used as an individual shrub and would look equally good in a pot. This is a slow growing plant that reaches approximately 1m in height. It  performs best in part shade locations. Ideal for pots, topiary and even bonsai.
