Description

Lavandula angustifolia "Hidcote"

Hidcote Lavender is a dwarf bush with aromatic silver-green leaves bearing slender spikes of dark purple-blue flowers during spring and summer. The flowers are darker in colour than Munstead lavendar, and Hidcote does not grow as tall. 6" pot size, approximately 8-20cm in height.

Betula pendula

An elegant deciduous tree with soft, white bark.

• Small green leaves that turn vibrant yellow in autumn • Beautiful feature tree, planted in groups or used along driveways, fence lines or avenues • Low maintenance, tolerating frost, snow and drought once established.

Penstemon hybrid 'Osprey' Penstemon Osprey is a very showy penstemon with repeat white blushed with pink flowers. Penstemon are a long flowering softly billowing shrub that definitely deserve a place in the cottage garden. Flowering from late Spring through to early Winter, these plants are tolerant to dry spells and very hardy. Prefers full sun to part shade position in the garden, prune fairly hard in Winter to rejuvenate and stop plants from becoming woody.

Banksia integrifolia

Banksia integrifolia or ‘Coastal Banksia’ is a hardy native found down the Eastern coastline of Australia. Often seen in windswept and sculptural shapes along beach fronts, when placed in a less hostile environment, they can become quite beautiful, bushy specimen plants. They grow anywhere between 4m - 10m and 1m - 5m wide, depending on their environment. During autumn and winter their yellow flowers form into large cones, rich with nectar. These stunning flowers attract lots of bird life, particularly cockatoos and honey-eaters. Coastal Banksia is a slow grower and can handle a wide range of soil types. 10" pot size.

Acer buergerianum

The Trident Maple is a small to medium-sized deciduous tree, appreciated internationally for its ability to grow into a trouble-free tree that is also highly drought tolerant. It produces broad, hard, shiny rich dark green "three-pronged" leaves.

The flowers that it bears in spring are a yellow-green colour and are small, similar to other maples. Makes a good street tree, and grows to around 12 meters. For an avenue we recommend planting 5m apart, or for a screen 2.5m apart.

Erigeron karvinskianus

Daisy Spray or Seaside Daisy is a hardy perennial shrub with little daisy flowers of pink and white. • Only grows 15cm tall! • Perfect for borders, pots and the cottage style garden • Tolerates heat, drought, poor soils and frost
ContentSilver birches are a small growing tree with an inoffensive root system that’s beautiful all year round. They will make your property looks a million dollars because although Silver Birch are inexpensive, nothing else looks as classic in the garden. In winter Silver Birch Trees have a lovely naked tree with a fabulous white trunk! To enhance that feature, you can plant them in clumps of 2 or 3 silver birch trees and together the white trunks look more beautiful. In spring and summer you have beautiful fine lacy green foliage, giving fabulous dappled shade. These trees are beautiful where you want some shade but you don’t want total shade or darkness. The silver birch looks great with an old fashioned house and silver birches look absolutely fabulous with modern buildings as well. Either in a modern setting or an old fashioned setting, classic garden or a modern garden, silver birches look amazing! Over the years they’ve probably become the most popular tree in Melbourne, measured over time, and look great just about anywhere. Check out our fact sheet page for more information on silver birch trees.Daisy Spray Erigeron is a superior form of the Seaside Daisy, Erigeron karvinskianus, that will grow into a compact mound 60 cm in diameter and 40 cm tall.
