Description

Cotinus Coggygria, Smoketree

Purple Smoke Bush is a gem in the garden thanks to it's unique blend of colours that change throughout the seasons. A large deciduous shrub or small tree, its beautiful eye-catching Spring foliage is green overlaid with purple. Summer brings deep purple foliage that then turns deep orange and bronze in a burst of glory for an Autumn show. Purple Smokebush gets its name from the clouds of smoke-like purple and pink "flowers" it produces in early Summer. These are very beautiful themselves, and are prized along with the foliage by florists. Grows best in full sun to partial shade and it is tolerant of drought and most soils, making it a great addition to many gardens. 10" pot size.

Boronia megastigma

Brown Boronia is a small shrub that reaches heights of around a meter, and while it can be short lived, it is worth growing for the beautifully perfumed flowers in Spring. The best garden growing conditions are in dappled shade, in moist but well drained soils, and it loves a cool root run, which can be ensured with a good layer of mulch. 6" pot size.

Ribes rubrum

Red Current is slightly more sour than its relative the blackcurrant, and is cultivated mainly for jams and cooked dishes. These require a cold Winter and can be grown in areas that may be too wet and shady for other fruit. This variety is an upright deciduous shrub, typically growing 1.0 – 1.5m in height, sometimes up to 2.0m Likes a full sun to part shade position. 10''/25cm pot
