Description

Pinus thunbergii

Yatsubusa (Dwarf Black Pine) is a very popular form of the 'Japanese Black Pine'. In spring, white candles make a colourful contrast to the dark green mature needles. It is one of the most popular pines for Japanese style gardens. It is capable of growing more than 2 metres, but easily control with pruning.

Cercis canadensis 'Merlot'

With stunning, deep rich purple foliage in the summer the 'Merlot' Redbud makes for a stunning feature tree in the garden. In the spring, lavender pink blooms cover the bare branches and in the autumn the leaves turn vibrant oranges and yellows before falling. The 'Merlot' Redbud is perfect for small backyards.   See our Cercis Factsheet here for more about the different Cercis varieties!

Philodendron hastatum

A very rare and unusual philodendron with silver, almost metallic-looking foliage. Has a strong climbing habit, so needs a post, log, trellis, or tree to grow on. Set the Philodendron in a location with bright, indirect sunlight. Find a position near a window where the sun’s rays never actually touch the foliage. While it’s normal for older leaves to yellow, if this happens to several leaves at the same time, the plant may be getting too much light. On the other hand, if the stems are long and leggy with several inches between leaves, the plant probably isn’t getting enough light 8''/20cm pot
