Description

Cotinus coggygria, Smoketree

Purple Smoke Bush is a gem in the garden thanks to it's unique blend of colours that change throughout the seasons. A large deciduous shrub or small tree, its beautiful eye-catching Spring foliage is green overlaid with purple. Summer brings deep purple foliage that then turns deep orange and bronze in a burst of glory for an Autumn show. Purple Smokebush gets its name from the clouds of smoke-like purple and pink "flowers" it produces in early Summer. These are very beautiful themselves, and are prized along with the foliage by florists. Grows best in full sun to partial shade and it is tolerant of drought and most soils, making it a great addition to many gardens.

Gardenia augusta

Also known as Cape Jasmine, Buttons has lush, compact, dark green foliage year round and fragrant, white semi double flowers peaking from spring and summer. Buttons is drought hardy as well as being tolerant of both heat and frost. Naturally tidy shape, very low maintenance. Plant in part shade, full shade or part sun. Small variety reaching only 1.5m tall. Great for borders. 6"/14cm pot

Washingtonia robusta

Common names: Mexican Cotton Fan Palm, Mexican Fan Palm, Mexican washingtonia, Washingtonia palm. The Mexican Cotton Fan Palm is a medium-tall sized palm originating from Mexico. It can reach a mature height of 7m in Victoria's climate. It has large fan like fronds with remnant threads of foliage that appear like ‘cotton’ hanging from between frond segments. It is tough, drought and frost tolerant when established! It is a perfect addition for features and tropical gardens. 100 litre pot.

Malus purpurea

The Purple Crab Apple makes a handsome small tree, quite round topped in maturity. With beautiful flowers which are a deep, red-purple colour creating an effect that looks almost unbelievably rich. A great specimen tree, in Autumn the Purple Crab Apple has dark purple fruit and leaves which turn shades of yellow and red. 13" pot size.

Lagerstroemia indica

Acoma Crepe Myrtle is a spectacular, small, deciduous tree that has appealing drooping clusters of pure white flowers. These flowers have an extra long bloom time. Its attractive peeling bark adds some interest during Winter. Acoma Crepe Myrtle is best placed in a full sunlight position. Little watering is required once it is established. Grows to approximately 3.5m x 3.5m. If you're looking for a larger white-flowered crepe myrtle, we recommend Natchez. 6"/14cm pot
