Description

Prunus avium

Stella Cherry trees have dark red heart shaped fruit with a delicious sweet flavour. They're a popular home garden variety with fruit ripening in mid December. Expect your first fruit when the plant is around 3 years old. It requires a full sun position with protection from wind but does not require a cross pollinator to bear fruit. While Stella Cherry trees are self pollinating, it's good to plant more than one variety to ensure they put out a good crop of fruit and to extend the fruiting season. Don't forget to net your cherry trees. The "avium" in their name is latin for BIRD, for a reason you can probably guess.

Robinia pseudoacacia contortaminima

Curly Shirley Robinia is a unique tree with beautiful curly branches that stays small, and grows into an artistic living sculpture. It's easily kept to a height of 2-3 meters, suits large pots or tubs, and is also at home as a small feature tree in the garden. Its curly branches are covered in spring foliage which is also curly, and it then blooms lovely white wisteria-like flowers. Deciduous, Curly Shirley's autumn colour is a lovely yellow, similar to the popular Golden Robinia, and its winter bareness reveal its beautiful contorted branches.

Laurus nobilis 'Bay Tree'

Native to the Mediterranean, the bay tree is well known for its culinary use, often added to soups and stews. It is an upright, hardy evergreen tree with deep green, aromatic foliage. Leaves are glossy and oval in shape and hang from red-brown branches. In spring, yellow buds appear, opening to clusters of fluffy yellow flowers, adding a lovely contrast amongst the foliage. Tough, beautiful and useful, this tree lends itself well to hedging and is also an excellent choice for topiary.
Borago officinalis Borage is an old, ancient herb, leading back to Roman times used as a culinary and medicinal herb. It is said that borage brings happiness to the heart, with it's cheerful flowers. It may be made into syrup or tea or flowers are a beautiful garnish or addition to salads. 4"/10cm pot
