| Description | Cotinus Coggygria, Smoketree
Purple Smoke Bush is a gem in the garden thanks to it's unique blend of colours that change throughout the seasons. A large deciduous shrub or small tree, its beautiful eye-catching Spring foliage is green overlaid with purple. Summer brings deep purple foliage that then turns deep orange and bronze in a burst of glory for an Autumn show.
Purple Smokebush gets its name from the clouds of smoke-like purple and pink "flowers" it produces in early Summer. These are very beautiful themselves, and are prized along with the foliage by florists. Grows best in full sun to partial shade and it is tolerant of drought and most soils, making it a great addition to many gardens.
10" pot size. | Lavandula angustifolia
Traditionally English Lavender was grown for its heavenly fragrance, used in oils and potpourri.
• Small, slender blue-ish purple flowers on tall stems above the foliage
• Grown in pots, as a hedge or in the cottage garden to attract bees and butterflies
• Tolerates drought and dry conditions, preferring well drained soils
6"/14cm pot | Lomandra hystrix, Green Matrush
Lomandra hystrix is a perfect plant for edging and around water features due to its like of water and large strappy leaves with broad, lime green to green foliage. In Spring to Summer it also features eye catching light yellow flowers.
It naturally grows on the edge of fresh and salt water creeks, swamps, rivers and in moist gullies. It tolerates dry conditions, but does better in climates with summer rainfall or with top up summer watering. Ideal for moist soils.
6" pot size. | Washingtonia robusta
Common names: Mexican Cotton Fan Palm, Mexican Fan Palm, Mexican washingtonia, Washingtonia palm.
The Mexican Cotton Fan Palm is a medium-tall sized palm originating from Mexico. It can reach a mature height of 7m in Victoria's climate. It has large fan like fronds with remnant threads of foliage that appear like ‘cotton’ hanging from between frond segments. It is tough, drought and frost tolerant when established! It is a perfect addition for features and tropical gardens.
100 litre pot. | Citrofortunella microcarpa
Calamondin is considered a cross between a mandarin and a cumquat. The tree bears shiny deep-green leaves and grows to a height of 3 - 6 meters. These trees can be planted in groups or as an individual specimen tree for a garden. They grow best in a position of full sun and in well drained soil.
The fruit are orange in colour when fully ripe and are great for cooking, they have many uses from spices to jams and more.
