| Description | Callistemon viminalisBetter John has been bred from popular small callistemon Little John, but with some changes. It is quicker to establish, easier to grow and its foliage colour is better. It has all this while still keeping Little John's excellent small height. Better John bears foliage that is blue-grey while new growth has silver tones due to its soft hairy texture. Its flowers bloom from mid to late Spring. Best placed in full sun or part shade position. Purple Smokebush gets its name from the clouds of smoke-like purple and pink "flowers" it produces in early Summer. These are very beautiful themselves, and are prized along with the foliage by florists. But a fruiting plum it is not! The Elvins Flowering Plum is a perfect little round deciduous tree with stunning autumn colours, come spring time pops of blossom unfurl into white flowers which magically change colour to coral pink. What a journey! The best option for a smaller garden as this tree may be little but mighty in personality. Loves full sun and moist well draining soil.
