| Description | Ulmus parvifolia
The bark of the Chinese Elm is a real stand out feature, as the tree sheds it in patches, creating the effect of a tapestry of varying browns and greys. Foliage is lush, shiny and green, and the tree is semi deciduous, turning golden in autumn, and keeping its leaves in warmer areas. It has also been noted by many Aussie gardeners in recent years that native birds enjoy the fruit of the Chinese Elm. | Washingtonia robusta
Common names: Mexican Cotton Fan Palm, Mexican Fan Palm, Mexican washingtonia, Washingtonia palm.
The Mexican Cotton Fan Palm is a medium-tall sized palm originating from Mexico. It can reach a mature height of 7m in Victoria's climate. It has large fan like fronds with remnant threads of foliage that appear like ‘cotton’ hanging from between frond segments. It is tough, drought and frost tolerant when established! It is a perfect addition for features and tropical gardens.
100 litre pot. | Lagerstroemia indica x fauriei 'Tuscarora'
'Tuscarora' is one of the best of the dark fuchsia-pink flowering Lagerstroemia's. The flowers and highly ornamental bark make this tough small tree a useful specimen or screening tree.
Crepe Myrtles are adaptable to a range of conditions, heat and some dryness but requires adequate moisture during establishment. So can also be used well as a street tree. Mature growth: 6m x 4m wide. | Rhodohypoxis Baurii "Pink"
Rhodohypoxis in their natural habitat they are often found on open grassy slopes in areas of high altitude. They produce vivid green leaves that are long and slightly hairy. This plant flowers from late spring until autumn and comes in a range of beautiful colours from pure white to a selection of pinks and into the dark reds.
This plant is fairly adaptable to low temperatures down to -5°C and will grow in all but the most tropical or hot parts of Australia. They are great for rockery planting. | Phoenix roebelenii 'Pygmy Date Palm'
Date Palms feature an interesting, classic palm trunk that forms and grows larger as it matures. They have a crown of elegant dark green lacy fronds cascading from the top of this. A mature Date Palm will reach 2-3 meters tall.
Old, dead fronds are best pruned off to expose the trunk as the tree ages and to keep it neat. The Date Palm is another good plant for creating a tropical feel in the garden which does well down South. | Troilus roses produce flowers that are a gorgeous pale apricot or apricot blend. They are have a strong, honey, sweet fragrance. Medium to large clusters of flowers. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
