Acmena smithii

Forest Flame is a very compact form of Acmena smithii that can easily be kept pruned under 1m. It produces glossy fine green leaves with attractive bright red new growth. If you keep it regularly trimmed will not produce berries.  This variety prefers a full sun or part shade position for best results and becomes extremely frost hardy once established. Will tolerate dry conditions once established and is reasonably frost tolerant. 7"/18cm pot size.

Philodendron hybrid

Philodendron Autumn is another must add plants to your Philodendron family! The foliage of this are coppery bronzeand gold fading to dark green. This plant likes filtered sunlight. For best performance with a well draining soil. Please note: Colours of plants can change according to the season or day length.

Himalayacalamus porcatus

Nepalese Blue is an ornamental weeping bamboo featuring soft blue/white/grey coloured culms. It will naturally grow between 2-3mtrs in height and can be easily trimmed down in height if need be. It has a weepy growth habit with delicate lush green foliage. Nepalese Blue needs a shady area or filtered light to thrive. The natural footprint size of the clump is 1mtr however this wonderful species can be planted into narrow garden beds or maintained smaller to suit your needs, down to a minimum of 50cm. It can be used as a delicate feature bamboo, or a light screening option in shady areas. Or, grow it under an outside patio roof or verandah!

Waterhousea floribunda

This Australian native is known as the Weeping Lilly Pilly due to its slightly drooping habit, which is visually very attractive. It is often used as a hedge/screen and responds well to pruning. Although often used as a hedge, it can also be planted as an evergreen tree. It also flowers white in Summer, but rarely in Melbourne, so it makes a good choice near pools.

The height is often determined by the conditions, but untrimmed will reach at least 8m. It can easily grow in many soil types, is frost tolerant and also copes well with damp soils. It is fast growing and has a lovely, lush, compact foliage with the new growth a pink/rust colour adding contrast.

We source our Waterhousia from Northern NSW as they have a warmer climate offering larger and bushier plants than those sourced locally, giving our customer better value for money. You may notice that the plants have some cosmetic psyllium damage that resemble bumps or blisters on some of the leaves. Rest assured our grower has sprayed the plants and there are no live psyllids remaining on them. Weeping Lilly Pillys are a popular choice with minimal berries and a lovely weeping evergreen habit, we know you will enjoy these plants . However if the cosmetic damage is something you are concerned about we can look to provide you alternative species that may also be of interest.
