This delightful tree is native to Northern America and therefore, also known as the "Northern Red Oak". It is a medium to large tree, solid and reliable and has been a firm favourite throughout the centuries (it can live to around 500 years old!), proving it's adaptability to most conditions.
Red Oak will eventually produce acorns, but not until the tree is quite mature, around 40 years old. An attractive, compact, neat looking tree with mid green lobed foliage through Spring and Summer, turning with the cooler weather, to spectacular Autumn colours of rust, orange, tan, yellow and vibrant red.
