Butterfly Bush is a bushy, hardy perennial shrub with long graceful stems that bloom with pale pink flowers in spring-summer. These stems grow up to 1m long, but can be clipped back shorter, and sway gracefully in the breeze. The name of a popular variety, Whirling Butterflies, perfectly describes the way the plant resembles a cloud of butterflies when swaying in the breeze.

Sweet potatoes are relatively easy to grow but the one thing that they won’t tolerate is frost. You need to ensure you plant in a protected area away from high winds, frosts, snails & slugs. They love to be in full sun with well drained organic soil. You’ll know when your sweet potatoes are ready to harvest when the leaves start to turn yellow. Keeping in mind that the longer you keep them in the ground the more vitamins they’ll absorb and the bigger they’ll grow.

Some traditional hedging plants grow only an inch or two a year. BoxOz Lonicera will produce a calf high border in under twelve months, a knee high hedge in around 18 months, and a waist high hedge in 30 months. Almost any soil is suitable, as long as it is not too swampy. Fertilise your BoxOz Lonicera occasionally with a complete fertiliser, and water as required. |
