Common names: The white fir, concolor fir, or Colorado fir.
This fir, native to the lofty mountains of Oregon and California, thrives wonderfully at lower elevations. It develops into a stunning, well-proportioned tree that serves as a perfect centrepiece for any lawn. Its soft, elongated needles display a lovely blue-grey hue, while the fresh green shoots create an intriguing contrast. Growth is relatively slow; expect it to reach about 2 meters in height after roughly 10 years.
