Description

Eucalyptus microcarpa

Western Grey Box Gum, is a bigger tree growing to 25m tall, with narrow green foliage. It has a grey trunk with white patches and flaky bark that sheds in short ribbons. The name microcarpa comes from Greek 'micros' meaning small, and 'carpos' meaning fruit, referring to the small fruit it produces.

Ficus microcarpa hillii 'Koh'

A small leaved ficus variety, Koh or California Ficus is ideal for shaping with an upright narrow habit. It has a non-aggressive root system, giving it good longevity in a pot and making it the preferred ficus option for planting near water pipes and pools. An excellent tolerance to coastal conditions, drought and full sun positions. It can be kept as a small hedge, approximately 1 to 3 metres, without competing any close plantings.

See our Ficus Hedging & Screening Factsheet here for more about the different Ficus varieties!

Eucalyptus Cephalocarpa, "Silver Stringybark"

The Silver Stringybark is an excellent large low maintenance native tree for the Melbourne area and native to Victoria. It's drought and frost tolerant once established and features silvery foliage, white flowers during Winter and interesting "stringy" fibrous bark. These trees grow to a mature height of around 15m, so they make good shade trees or feature trees.
