| Description | Solanum betaceum Gold Tamarillo produces small, teardrop-shaped fruit with glossy, smooth, yellow skin and flesh containing small, soft edible seeds. The skin is thin and far too bitter to be eaten. When ripe, the flesh is bright, sweet-tart, and piquant in flavour. It prefers a sheltered spot with well-drained soil.
