| Description | Chamaecyparis obtusa
This newly released cultivar of the popular Hinoki Cypress is a striking evergreen conifer valued for its vibrant golden-yellow foliage, providing beautiful year-round colour and contrast in the garden. The foliage deepens to a stunning golden-orange shade during winter and will not burn in full sun. With a moderate growth rate, it can reach over 2 metres in height in around 10 years. It also responds very well to pruning, making it an excellent choice for shaping and garden structure. 8"/20cm pot | Ulmus parvifoliaThe bark of the Chinese Elm is a real stand out feature, as the tree sheds it in patches, creating the effect of a tapestry of varying browns and greys. Foliage is lush, shiny and green, and the tree is semi deciduous, turning golden in autumn, and keeping its leaves in warmer areas. It has also been noted by many Aussie gardeners in recent years that native birds enjoy the fruit of the Chinese Elm. | |||||||||||||
