| Description | Camellia japonica
Japonica varieties of Camellia are better suited to shaded locations so that their foliage does not burn. They will be fine in morning sun, but not hot afternoon sun, and protect from high winds.
Ecclesfield Camellia has dark green, glossy, evergreen leaves and from early winter to spring it will show large white anemone like flowers with yellow centres. Upright growth, perfect for screens and hedging, formal gardens, pot plants and more. Water and mulch well. It will reach 3-3m.
8"/20cm pot | Myoporum parvifolium
This lovely evergreen, low growing groundcover has broader leaves that resemble rosemary. In summer it blooms with small honey scented flowers that come in pink or white. Low maintenance, Creeping Boobialla is drought tolerant, and spreads to keep weeds at bay.
7"/18cm pot size. | Argyranthemum frutescens
The yellow Marguerite Daisy produces mounds of yellow blooms that grow best in full sun. These shrubs are extremely hardy and will flower throughout spring and summer until the first frosts of autumn, giving you almost constant colour in your garden. They are suitable for pots, borders and cottage gardens. For best results dead head after flowering. | Gerbera jamesonii
Gerbera daisies love to be in full sun with partial shade in a well-drained soil with moderate watering over the summer months.
- Attracts bees and butterflies
- Low maintenance
- Beautiful bright colours
6"/14cm pot. | Ficus microcarpa hillii
Ficus hillii or 'Hill's Weeping Fig' are the hardiest of the evergreen ficus plants and are the number one choice for standardizing. The soft, white bark contrasts beautifully against the exuberant, glossy green foliage, making a feature out of your pleached hedge or standard topiary.
Unlike other ficus, the foliage of the Hill's Weeping Ficus can be hit by a hard frost without recoiling and turning black. Ficus hillii can tolerate a wide range of soils from clay to sandy, preferring a rich, moist loam in which it would thrive. They grow best in full sun to part shade and produce no flowers, making it a no mess hedging option!
Ficus roots are known to be quite vigorous, but can be controlled by keeping the foliage and head of the plant trimmed, roughly 2-4 times a year. They are best planted away from water pipes, easements and pools to avoid any root issues.
