| Description | Cistus salviifolius prostratusSageleaf Rockrose (Gallipoli Rose) is a low spreading evergreen shrub with profuse snow-white flowers, adorned with golden-yellow stamens at their heart and a yellow spot at the base of their petals. Although each flower lasts only for a day, this vigorous shrub provides a succession of flowers for weeks in late spring to early summer. The blossoms are borne atop a dense mound of wrinkled, gray-green leaves resembling sage leaves, hence the common name. This plant is excellent for sloped areas or as groundcover for rough situations. It grows to about 20cm high and 50cm wide. It prefers a full sun position and loose well-drained soil. It is a fast grower and is frost hardy once established. 6"/14cm pot size | ||
