Aloe barberae, or the Tree Aloe, is Africa's largest Aloe variety, and as their name suggests they are practically a tree. Tree Aloes are noted for their neat, rounded crown of succulent foliage and smooth grey bark. They form a striking focal point in the garden which really catches the eye.
Tree Aloe is best placed in a position anywhere between full sunlight to partial shade. It is also wind tolerant, has a moderate frost tolerance and a high drought tolerance. Tree Aloes develop a large base of roots so it is wise not to plant near pools etc.
