This visually spectacular tree has been known to stop traffic when in bloom! In Summer it produces masses of bright yellow racaemes of flowers followed by clusters of magnificent seed pods which resemble miniature Chinese lanterns. A small tree, it will reach around 5m in height, making it suitable for virtually any sized garden. The foliage is medium green and deeply cerated and will evolve during Autumn to spectacular gold and bronze. Suited to small spaces, it is reasonably drought hardy and requires minimal care.

Melaleuca linariifolia is usually a hardy tree to about 8 metres in height. It is widely available in general horticulture and is used for both home gardens and in landscaping.
The white flowers occur in prominant, fluffy clusters which cover the plant in late spring and summer to almost exclude the foliage from view. It is this flowering habit that has given rise to one of the plant’s common names, “Snow-in-Summer”.
