Description

Acacia cognata

Narrow-leaf Bower Wattle is a fast growing attractive native, with pendulous branches and  a beautiful weeping habit. Grows to the size of a large shrub or small tree depending on your landscape and climate. Fluffy yellow, ball shaped flowers are produced in Spring. As a small feature tree it looks great when planted en mass in the open or under the shade of bigger, taller trees. A good option for soft screening. 12"/30cm pot

Laurus nobilis 'Bay Tree'

Native to the Mediterranean, the bay tree is well known for its culinary use, often added to soups and stews. It is an upright, hardy evergreen tree with deep green, aromatic foliage. Leaves are glossy and oval in shape and hang from red-brown branches. In spring, yellow buds appear, opening to clusters of fluffy yellow flowers, adding a lovely contrast amongst the foliage. Tough, beautiful and useful, this tree lends itself well to hedging and is also an excellent choice for topiary.

Lomandra hystrix, Green Matrush

Lomandra hystrix is a perfect plant for edging and around water features due to its like of water and large strappy leaves with broad, lime green to green foliage. In Spring to Summer it also features eye catching light yellow flowers. It naturally grows on the edge of fresh and salt water creeks, swamps, rivers and in moist gullies. It tolerates dry conditions, but does better in climates with summer rainfall or with top up summer watering. Ideal for moist soils. 6" pot size.

Pyrus calleryana 'Winter Glow'

The only evergreen ornamental pear currently on the market, making it a highly sought after specimen tree. • Spring blossoms on semi bare branches • Ideal for screening or as a shade tree • Green glossy leaves with a silvered backing Everscreen Pears will only retain leaves in warmer climates. Cool climate areas such as rural Victoria are likely to see leaf drop in the winter but usually for only a period of up to 5 weeks. In cool climates it the Everscreen will get an autumnal colouring prior to leaf drop.   For more information on Ornamental Pears see our Pyrus - Ornamental Pear Factsheet
