DescriptionGrevillea lanigera Coastal Gem Grevillea is a charming low-spreading shrub that reaches about 1 foot in height and spreads 4-5 feet wide. Its narrow grayish-green leaves arch gracefully along the stems. The flowers, which bloom from winter to late spring, showcase a lovely blend of pinkish-red and cream, resembling fuchsia when viewed from afar. This plant thrives in neutral to slightly acidic soils and prefers full sun to light shade. Once established, it's quite drought-tolerant, but be cautious not to overwater it. This versatile plant is perfect for rock gardens, borders, and makes an excellent ground cover. Plus, it’s a fantastic choice for attracting nectar-feeding birds to your garden! 6"/14cm pot

Pyrus calleryana 'Capital'

The most slender of the ornamental pears, it's no wonder this versatile tree is so popular!

• Spring blossoms on bare branches • Vibrant autumnal colours or red, orange and purple • Fits in narrow spaces, along fencelines & driveways

Can average 8-10m tall. Can be trimmed to keep at 6m if required.

Pyrus nivalis

The Snow Pear is an especially hardy ornamental pear tree with glaucous foliage, having a fine, silvery soft coating on the leaves.

• Tolerates drought and wet areas • Perfect for driveways, avenues or a stand alone feature • Autumnal colour and spring blossom

Rosmarinus officinalis 'Tuscan Blue'

Tuscan Blue Rosemary quickly forms an upright hedge of aromatic needle-like foliage. As it name suggests, it flowers in blue. Rosemary leaves are great as a flavorful spice in cooking. It takes to pruning well, so is perfect for a medium size if slightly informal hedge. Evergreen.
Grevillea thelemanniana This low-growing, spreading shrub reaches about 1m in height and 1.5m in width, showcasing beautifully arching branches adorned with delicate, finely divided green leaves. In winter, it delights with red spider flowers that bloom at the tips of these graceful branches. Even when not in bloom, the fern-like foliage and elegant arching structure make it a visually appealing addition to any garden. It thrives in full sun or partial shade and prefers well-drained soils. This plant is resilient, being tolerant of drought, frost, and coastal conditions. 6"/14cm pot

Wisteria sinensis

One of the most popular Wisteria available with slightly smaller flowers than that of the Wisteria floribunda, hanging 18-30cm off the vine

• Long, fragrant purple flowers covering bare vines in the early spring • Can be trained to climb along a fence, trellis, arbor or archways. • Prefers a full sun position in moist, well-drained soil

See our Wisteria Factsheet here for more about the different Wisteria varieties!

Pittosporum tenuifolium

Pittosporum Golf Ball is a low dense hedge you can trim as a topiary. It can be described as "the plant that trims itself", as it keeps its compact rounded shape and doesn't get too big. Golf Ball pittosporums feature bright mint-green glossy leaves with small, inconspicuous chocolate-purple flowers. Prefers a full sun to part shade position.

Ficus microcarpa hillii

Ficus hillii or 'Hill's Weeping Fig' are the hardiest of the evergreen ficus plants and are the number one choice for standardizing. The soft, white bark contrasts beautifully against the exuberant, glossy green foliage, making a feature out of your pleached hedge or standard topiary. Unlike other ficus, the foliage of the Hill's Weeping Ficus can be hit by a hard frost without recoiling and turning black. Ficus hillii can tolerate a wide range of soils from clay to sandy, preferring a rich, moist loam in which it would thrive. They grow best in full sun to part shade and produce no flowers, making it a no mess hedging option! Ficus roots are known to be quite vigorous, but can be controlled by keeping the foliage and head of the plant trimmed, roughly 2-4 times a year. They are best planted away from water pipes, easements and pools to avoid any root issues. See our Ficus Hedging & Screening Factsheet here for more about the different Ficus varieties!
