Mona Amethyst (Spur flower) is a particularly attractive variety that does not spread like other members of the family, but rather forms a neat low shrub with an upright, erect habit. Numerous spikes of rich purple-pink coloured flowers begin to appear from late Summer through Autumn complementing the ornamental foliage of deep green leaves with dark wine purple coloured undersides. This fast growing plant is best placed in a full sun to part shade location.

The attractive glossy foliage is dark green in colour and contrasts well with the massed display of flowers. Grows in full sun to partial shade with best flowers produced in full sun. Hardy and adaptable to most soils but prefers enriched, well-drained soils and appreciates an application of chunky mulch. Resistant to salt spray, and once established (with early good watering) will withstand dry conditions for extended periods. Is heat and frost tolerant to a degree. Excellent choice for pots, low hedging, massed planting in shrubberies or around pools. | Seaside Daisy, Erigeron karvinskianus, that will grow into a compact mound 60 cm in diameter and 40 cm tall.
