Leylandii conifer has beautiful dense, fine green foliage compared to any broadleaf Pittosporum, Lilly Pilly, Ornamental Pear, or Photinia. It grows faster than any other conifer or cypress. Conifer leylandii is also capable of growing up to 3 meters in the first 18 months when planted from a small-sized plant. For the best results, trim your Leighton Green Conifer hedge 2-4 times a year.

There are a few types of Photinia very good for hedging, and Photinia robusta is the core variety. This colourful hedge can be spotted from miles away, with vibrant red new growth.
Photinia robusta is very frost hardy and also tolerates poor, clay soil. This sturdy plant can be trimmed as a medium or tall hedge, looking quite striking when trimmed into a formal hedge. Photinias produce small, white clusters of flowers in the spring. Suited to Formal or Cottage gardens.

Growth Rate: Moderate, 30- 50 cm in 1 year
Height: Up to 7m but usually maintained between 1.5 and 3m tall
Soil Requirements: Tolerates poor soil but loves fertile, loamy, and well-drained soil
